What We Stock

Lumber, stocked and ready.

TBC runs a real yard, not a special-order desk. Treated 6×6 CCA posts, dimensional SPF, Yellow Pine #1, plus sheeting and insulation — all on the rack when you need them. Same-day pickup, or on the next delivery run.

The Stocking Program

Three lumber categories. Everything we keep on hand.

TBC stocks across three grade tiers. Treated for ground contact and posts. SPF for general framing. Yellow Pine #1 for higher structural demands and longer spans. Most of what a builder needs, in a yard you can drive into.

Treated

Treated CCA — ground contact ready

CCA (chromated copper arsenate) treatment for ground contact and structural posts — the standard for post-frame building columns where the bottom of the post sits below grade. We carry the 6×6 in four lengths to match post-frame post heights, plus 2×6 and 2×8 in 16' for sill plates, ledgers, and any treated-required framing.

Treated stocking list

6×6 CCA — 16'
Post-frame building posts
6×6 CCA — 18'
Taller posts, equipment shed clearance
6×6 CCA — 20'
Riding arena, heavy-clear-span posts
6×6 CCA — 24'
Custom tall-wall applications
2×6 CCA — 16'
Sill plates, ledgers, treated framing
2×8 CCA — 16'
Heavier sill plate and band joist applications

SPF

SPF dimensional — general framing

SPF (spruce-pine-fir) is the standard for interior framing, partition walls, and non-load-critical applications. We keep the most-used dimensions in stock so contractors don't lose a half-day driving to the next supplier looking for a 2×6×16.

SPF stocking list

2×4 SPF — 12'
Wall framing, blocking
2×4 SPF — 16'
Wall framing, long runs
2×6 SPF — 16'
Floor joists, rafters, exterior wall framing

Yellow Pine #1

Yellow Pine #1 — structural grade

Yellow Pine #1 carries higher allowable load values than SPF — the choice for long-span beams, heavy floor joists, and structural framing where the engineer specifies it. We carry all the standard sizes. Order what your plan calls for.

All standard dimensional sizes in stock or available next-day. Call (434) 579-6936 with your size and length list.

Also On The Rack

Sheeting, insulation, and the rest.

We keep adjacent stocking decisions in inventory so a full-package order doesn't require three suppliers. The list below covers what shows up most often on a delivery ticket alongside lumber.

Sheeting

  • Advantech subfloor — premium grade, holds up to weather during build
  • 7/16" OSB — wall and roof sheathing standard
  • Plywood — when the spec calls for it

Insulation

  • Double bubble reflective — 74" wide rolls, 125' long
  • Use cases: post-frame metal building interiors, condensation control, low-profile thermal break

Other materials available on request — if you need it, ask.

Questions We Get

Lumber questions, answered.

Do you stock everything on this list at all times?
The 6×6 CCA posts, common SPF sizes, and #1 Yellow Pine standards are on the rack year-round. Specialty sizes and high-volume orders may require a day or two of lead time — call ahead for anything past a standard pickup.
What's the difference between SPF and Yellow Pine #1?
SPF (spruce-pine-fir) is the standard for general framing and lighter loads. Yellow Pine #1 carries higher structural ratings, so it's the right choice for long-span joists, heavy beams, or anywhere the engineer specifies. Both have their place.
Can you deliver lumber with a building package, or only standalone?
Both. Most lumber rolls out as part of a full building package alongside trusses and metal. But standalone lumber loads are no problem — we'll get it on a truck and out to your site.
Do you cut to length, or only stock standard sizes?
We sell what's on the rack at standard lengths. For custom cuts, bring your list to the shop — we can usually accommodate, especially on bulk orders.
How do prices compare to a big-box supplier?
On comparable grades, we're competitive — and we're stocking the grades that actually perform, not the bottom-tier construction-grade that fails inspection. The conversation we want to have isn't “cheapest sticker price,” it's “right material for what you're building.”
